Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Former twice world heavyweight champion Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul participated in the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
