Automobiles in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Police
Authorities reported they were contacted by a individual who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Around fifty automobiles have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Law enforcement report they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish substance.

The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then located numerous other marked cars and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials state initial examinations indicate the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"Currently there is no lead as to where it came from; officials are currently not informed of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials announced they were working "to solve the case" and have appealed to the residents for details.

An important political figure said the attack rendered him stunned and required to be solved promptly.

"This incident affects the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on social media, recalling the killing of nine individuals by a assailant targeting people of migrant background in February 2020.
